Thorngumbald Parish Council

Serving Thorngumbald, Camerton and Ryehill

Many residents will remember the Ryehill Gymkhana which ran for many years. This event was organised by Mrs Gill Dixon, who raised over £20,000 for local charities, including the Special Baby Unit at Hedon Road Maternity Hospital, the Oncology Ward at Princess Royal Hospital and the Hearing Dogs for Deaf People who all benefited from the fund-raising.

We aim to bring you a selection of the photos from the gymkhana, kindly loaned to us by Mrs Gill Dixon from her personal records of the event. The children who attended the gymkhana are now all grown up and have children of their own, but we thought people would enjoy looking at some of these old photos.
